FBI STUDENT SHINES IN UMK’S HISTORIC VICTORY AT BUSINESS COMBAT PUM 2026
BANGI, Selangor, 2 April 2026 – A student from the Faculty of Language Studies and Human Development (FBI), Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), played a key role in UMK’s historic achievement of being crowned Overall Champion of the SSM Business Combat 2026 for the second consecutive year.
The student, Tan Sadahana Amirah binti Tan Sharifuddin, who served as the Marketing & Sales Manager of the student company Blooming Seed, demonstrated excellence in business communication and marketing strategy, significantly contributing to the team’s success at the national level.
This achievement was further strengthened by the guidance of FBI mentor, Dr. Bazilah Raihan, who provided valuable support particularly in communication, branding, and effective business pitching throughout the competition.
The competition, held at the Tun Abdul Razak Chancellor Hall (DECTAR), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Bangi, was part of the National Young Entrepreneurs Programme (PUM) from 1 to 2 April 2026. A total of 24 teams from higher education institutions nationwide participated in the competition, organised by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) in collaboration with MAKMUM.
At the final stage, which featured the top three teams, Blooming Seed stood out with its innovative product ‘Boome’—a skincare solution based on broccoli microgreens integrated with smart agriculture and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The team won a cash prize of RM15,000 as the champion, along with an additional RM1,000 for the Best Booth award.
Blooming Seed is led by five UMK students from various faculties, with Tan Sadahana Amirah representing FBI as a key figure in marketing and branding. Her contribution, together with the guidance of the FBI mentor, highlights that FBI students excel not only in language and communication but also in entrepreneurship and innovation at a competitive level.
This success not only elevates UMK’s name nationally but also reinforces the role of FBI students and academic mentors in nurturing well-rounded, competitive, and impactful graduates.
